Hey there! I’m Blake, and along with my incredible wife Sarah, we founded “Cycling Fitness Over 40.” We’ve been on a transformative journey together, especially as we ventured into our late 40s. Like many at our age, the transition to middle age wasn’t easy. Our once athletic and trim physiques began to falter, and we started to put on those extra pounds. It became an alarming reality when a close friend underwent open heart surgery. That was the wake-up call. We needed a change, and we needed it fast.
Our search for the ideal fitness regimen was not a smooth one. Everywhere we looked, fitness programs and diet plans seemed tailored for sprightly 20 or 30-somethings. These systems didn’t address the nuances and limitations that come with age, nor did they recognize the unique challenges we faced. We felt lost, wondering if there was any guidance out there that spoke to people like us.
But instead of giving up, we turned to something we once loved: cycling. We remembered the days when the wind on our faces and the rhythm of our pedals made us feel alive and young. So, we embraced it again, but this time with a twist. Recognizing the gap in guidance for people in our age bracket, we developed our own holistic health system. It incorporated not only cycling but also dietary changes and mental well-being practices tailored specifically for those transitioning into their golden years.
Fast forward a few years, and our lives had completely changed. Not only did we reclaim our health and vitality, but our happiness levels soared too. Our transformation was evident, and soon friends and family sought our advice on how they could achieve the same results. Sarah, with her ever-present wisdom, suggested we formally document our experiences and what we learned. She believed our journey could inspire and guide others. And just like that, “Cycling Fitness Over 40” was born.
